Frequent Asked Questions and Answers

Organizing In General

  • Have you ever tackled a puzzle? Notice the immense satisfaction when you finally fit that last piece into place? Our brains thrive on order and structure. They constantly strive to categorize and organize information, making sense of the world around us.

However, chaos disrupts this delicate balance. In a cluttered or disorganized environment, our brains work overtime. They struggle to prioritize essential tasks amidst the noise, leading to overwhelm. This overstimulation even triggers the release of cortisol—the notorious stress hormone.

Interestingly, this phenomenon affects women more profoundly than men. Perhaps that’s why women often exhibit a greater need for an organized living or working space. So, next time you’re tidying up, remember: it’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about maintaining mental harmony.

  • Much like any seasoned professional, organizers come armed with years of knowledge and experience. We stay abreast of the latest trends and products, offering valuable advice tailored to your needs. And let’s face it—sometimes life gets busy, leaving you with little time to tackle organizational tasks yourself. That’s where we step in, ready to transform chaos into order.

  • Interestingly, it’s even more crucial for disorganized people to seek professional organizing assistance. The organizing process involves finding a logical place for every item. Once everything has its designated spot, life becomes significantly simpler and less overwhelming. Imagine a world where chaos transforms into order, and you regain control over your surroundings. That’s precisely what professional organizers can offer—a pathway to a more harmonious and stress-free existence.

  • In our society, we often associate being “neat” or “organized” with certain personality traits. Unfortunately, those who struggle with organization are sometimes unfairly labeled as “lazy” or “messy.” But here’s the truth: organizational skills are not innate; they’re learned. Many of us were never explicitly taught how to organize effectively. Some of us have difficulty organizing because of conditions such as ADHD.

As professional organizers, we recognize this disparity and promise not to judge our clients. Life is complex, and various factors—work, travel, illness, family dynamics—can disrupt even the most orderly spaces. Even the renowned Marie Kondo confessed that maintaining tidiness became challenging after her third child arrived.

Remember, the goal of organizing isn’t to eradicate all mess; it’s about embracing it and making it more manageable. So, rest assured, we’re here to help you navigate the chaos without judgment.

Organizing Process

  • The timeline for completing a project varies significantly based on its scope and complexity. Here are some examples:

Small Pantry (4 Feet Wide): Typically, organizing a small pantry of this size can be accomplished in approximately five hours.

Small Closet (6 Feet Wide): Similar to the pantry, a small closet measuring six feet wide also falls within the five-hour range.

A single-car garage: a one-car garage with moderate level of clutter (items piled about waist high) usually takes 30-35 hours. We always work as a team for garages so it usually is done in two days.

3000-Square-Foot House: When it comes to organizing an entire house, such as a 3000-square-foot residence, the duration extends significantly. Factors like the client’s availability, specific requirements, and the volume of belongings play a crucial role. As a result, organizing a house of this scale may take several weeks to several months.

At the outset of the project, we will provide you with an estimate, ensuring transparency and clarity regarding the expected duration but please understand that the hours may change as the project progresses.

  • Not necessarily. While we highly recommend using appropriate containers during organizing sessions to maximize their benefits, there are also creative and budget-friendly ways to achieve organization.

The primary role of containers is to contain items. While matching containers create a uniform look that’s pleasing to the eye, we believe that any container serving the client’s purpose is acceptable. We’ll provide a list of recommended containers, but we also respect our clients’ choices.

Rest assured, we do not profit from container purchases, and we will never pressure clients into making any specific purchases. Your satisfaction and organization goals are our top priorities!

  • To begin with, we prioritize utilizing items the client already owns. Therefore, the actual purchase amount will vary. For instance, consider a pantry approximately four feet wide. If you opt for high-quality containers, the cost can range from $300 to $600. It’s important to note that these containers are a one-time investment and will serve you well for a lifetime. Additionally, we intentionally select containers that are versatile, ensuring they can be used in various rooms.

  • No, we won’t force you to discard your belongings. While decluttering is a crucial aspect of organizing, it isn’t our ultimate objective. Our approach involves coaching clients on making informed decisions about their possessions, and we always respect their choices regarding what to keep.

  • Absolutely! Organizing with your kids can be a rewarding experience as your kids learn important life skills. The approach will vary based on your child’s age. We will tailor the process to meet the specific needs of your family members.

  • The answer is yes, but fear not! After completing your organizing project, you’ll find it much more manageable. Plus, you’ll acquire the skills needed to restore everything to its peaceful state.

Life is dynamic—things flow in and out. Whether it’s a shopping trip, mail delivery, birthday celebration, or kids returning home from school, we encounter a tidal wave of items. However, as we learn to manage our belongings and flex our organizing muscles, handling this influx becomes easier. Everything already has a designated place, and decisions—whether to keep or discard—can be made swiftly.
